Growing up my mom taught me one of the most important financial lessons I've ever learned, one that stayed with me and prevented me from making thousands of useless impulse purchases.
The lesson was the 24 hour rule.
If I found a toy at the store that I wanted to buy then I had to wait 24 hours before buying it. If I still wanted the toy after that period then she was glad to take me back to the store to buy it. Most of the time I changed my mind and decided against the purchase.
So in honor of my Mom and the lesson she taught me we are giving away an extremely valuable gift. This gift is worth ONE MILLION DOLLARS OR MORE!
That is, if you use this prize...
Here's the scenario: you get out of debt in 2-3 years (or less!) then spend 34 years investing $500 a month at 8%. At that point you will have ONE MILLION DOLLARS! How incredible is that?! Think of all of the great things you could do with that kind of money - you could fund your grandkids' college education, travel, give generously to so many people and organizations, and retire with dignity!
That's where this prize comes in. Our giveaway this month is one FREE brand spankin new Financial Peace University Kit normally priced at $189!! We received our own Financial Peace kit for free from the Army and it has forever changed our lives, so we want to pass on this blessing to you, our beloved readers!
This is what you will receive
It all comes in this handy dandy carrying case. This makes it a breeze to transport the kit to Financial Peace class. Did I mention that you will now be able to attend the class for free for the rest of the life once you're a proud owner of your own FPU kit?
I keep the cd's in my minivan so that I can listen to it when I'm driving around - my five year old daughter has half of it memorized!
Our son wanted to model the kit for you
Even our kids are Financial Peace Fans.
"I don't think I want to listen to hours of financial talk - that sounds boring," might be the thought that's going through your head. Have no fear - you will laugh your tooshie off! (although I hold no responsibility for any problems that arise from your tooshie falling off from laughing hard)
"I already have a kit, so I can't participate." Wrong again! Even if you already have this kit, please feel free to participate! You can just pass it on to someone else, or you can opt to receive several other Dave Ramsey products, such as the Kid's Pack or a free ticket to his Total Money Makeover show.
In order to participate, just write an email to thislittlepiggyboughtahouse@yahoo.com or leave a comment below listing one thing you would do if you had a million dollars. Use your imagination! The winner will actually be drawn from a hat, so there's no pressure, I just think it would be fun for all of you future millionaires to get some ideas.
If you're wondering what all this highfalootin stuff is about, just click HERE for a preview of what you will experience during Financial Peace University.
You have until Friday, April 23 so tell you friends to make their way over here for the chance to discover true Financial Peace!

Oh boy, oh boy! I would be so excited to win this kit. I have the TMMO book but none of the other books/CD's. I have to begin on Pre-Step 1. I really, really need this :)
ReplyDeleteAnyway to dream about a million dollars. Well, I would pay off debt of course, pay my children's student loans, remodel/repair my home. But I have always had this crazy dream to begin/fund a non-profit that would provide counseling/guidance and free childcare to single mothers to allow them to go back to school to try to build a better life for their families. That's what I would really want to do.
Thank you for your consideration.
Patty, thank you so much for your participation! It's so much fun to hear other people's dreams! I love the idea of starting the counseling/guidance program to single mothers. What an incredible dream and I hope that someday you get to see it become a reality! Good luck at the drawing on Friday and thanks again!
ReplyDeleteWe would pay off our loans, take a vacation just for my hubby and me, start a house fund, buy a new, more efficient washer and dryer, and start college funds for the boys. Hmm...there is so much I'd like to do because there are so many people who are going through hard financial times right now.
ReplyDeleteI would pay off the house, car and credit card. Then I would actually be able to start a college fund for my two girls.
ReplyDeleteSteve and Amanda and The Milner Web Page - Thank you so much for participating! I love your ideas! Good luck in the drawing on Friday!!
ReplyDeleteWow... I have a couple of Dave Ramsey's books, but no FP kit. Eric and I would love to have a listen and then pass the kit on to Eric's sister who just spent an unprecidented amount of money on a home she really did not need.
ReplyDeleteIt has always been a dream of mine to begin a non-profit for spouses of service members who suffer abuse. It is just so hard for these women (and men) to utilize on post services that will help them out of their current situations; therefore; I would love to create a haven for them. Of course, I would also love to travel with the kiddos, and grand-kiddos, and maybe even start a legacy of college funds for them as well.
Nikki - I love your ideas! Especially the part about the non-profit service to spouses of military members - isn't it incredible to think about all the good that can be done when good people give generously! Good luck at the drawing on Friday!
ReplyDeleteI love Dave Ramsey! We have been trying to follow his ideas for years, ever since I read his book. We have not been able to get that 1000 bucks in the bank yet cause something always comes up, but I'm still trying :-) If I had a million dollars and my debt was paid off, cause that's the first thing I'd do, (that and buy a new car that doesn't need repairing every 6 weeks) I guess I'd probably live comfortably and give lots away. It'd be so great to be the one helping rather than the one needing help all the time. We are really struggling right now just to pay the necessary bills and our debt, other than our house, is not significant but it is enough to make life difficult. I would greatly appreciate winning!
ReplyDeleteFirefighters Wife - thank you so much for participating! I think that the Financial Peace Class really made the difference for us. The book was great, but we learned SO much in the class that we never even expected! I wanted to let you, and everyone else know that I think we'll probably start giving away FPU kits either once a month or once every other month, so even if you don't win in this drawing, keep checking back because you may be a future winner! Good luck tomorrow and keep with it because if you work hard you'll be debt free before you know it!
