Motivate

This isn't my child.

But it could be.

We are HUGE Dave Ramsey fans over at our house. Our daughter loves to squeel "Weee'rreee Deeebbbttt Frrreeeeeee!" and our son echos by yelling "We Dab Meeee!" It's like music to my ears. During the year that we were working to pay off our debt we were constantly telling our daughter, "Sweetie, Mommy and Daddy are working hard and pretty soon we're going to call into the Dave Ramsey Show and yell 'We're Debt Free!' so we need to practice okay?" Almost every night before she went to sleep she'd say "Mommy, We're debt freeeee!" If you want motivation to pay off your debt, then teach your two year old (her age at the time) how to say "We're debt free!" Like all two year olds who've found a new favorite saying, she'll want to say it over and over... and over and over and over.

If we would have known at the time what it would be like to live debt free, we would have arrived here light years faster. Instead of taking us 14 months it would have taken us 7.
